Contrary to misinformation being circulated, promoters have made it clear that Jeff Horn vs. Tim Tszyu has not been canceled.
The fight is still going forward for the scheduled date of April 22 in Townsville.
The promoters are hoping that the current crowd restriction regulations will have been relaxed by the April date. The regulations were put in place for the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Dean Lonergan, promoter for Horn, says the situation will be monitored over the course of the next few weeks before they would make a decision to cancel or continue moving full stream ahead.
Lonergan, and Tszyu’s promoter Matt Rose, are putting tickets on sale.
“We are still going on sale today for general admission tickets and have been on sale for corporate hospitality since Wednesday last week,” Lonergan said to WA Today.
“The fight is six weeks away and the current climate with coronavirus may change before then Matt Rose [Tszyu promoter] and myself will review the situation daily, and if required to make adjustments to the current plan.
